Steffen De Vreese

Steffen De Vreese received his degree of Master of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Ghent (Belgium), where he studied the anatomy of cetacean sound production and reception mechanisms. His interest in the link between morphology and acoustics led him to LAB in 2014. Here, he continued his studies and research, and got involved in various projects including the study of the effect of noise on aquatic life, and acoustic analyses, among others. He is currently doing a PhD on ´the peripheral nervous system in odontocete heads, morphology and pathology related to acoustic pathways´, in a joint program with the Department of Comparative Biomedicine and Food Science of the University of Padova (Italy).
